Russian outfit Kuban Krasnodar have announced that former Chelsea defender Dan Petrescu is their new manager, with immediate effect.
The Romanian gaffer resigned as Unirea Urziceni boss earlier this week, but did not waste any time in finding himself a new club. Petrescu left the Europa League hopefuls following a disagreement with Unirea’s board.
Kuban said on their official website that the 42-year-old Romanian has replaced caretaker manager Pogos Galstyan after signing a five-year-contract with the club from the Black Sea region.
Local media reports suggest that Petrescu will earn a fee of €1.5 million per season at his new club.
Kuban currently play in Russia’s second tier, but they’re desperate to return to the Russian Premier League right away after last year’s relegation.
