Romanian outfit Timisoara have completed the transfer of highly rated defender Laszlo Sepsi from Portuguese side Benfica for a reputed fee of €1.5 million.
The 23-year-old joined Benfica from Gloria Bistrita in January 2008, but was farmed out on loan to Racing Santander only six months later after failing to make an impact at the Lisbon-based side.
Sepsi spent the past eighteen months on loan at the Spanish outfit, but lost his spot in the starting XI this season. Therefore, Racing opted to terminate the defender’s loan deal.
Benfica coach Jorge Jesus deemed Sepsi surplus to requirements though and Timisoara were quick to make a move. The Romanian international has signed a five-year deal with his new club.
