In late December, Pirelli signed a 50 million euro financing agreement with the European Investment Bank that will provide the funds to increase tire production capacity at its facility in Slatina, Romania.
This sum will be used as part of the 250 million euro investment that Pirelli previously earmarked for its operations in Romania between 2009 and 2011.
The new loan, Pirelli adds, consolidates the relationship it holds with the EIB, an organization that since 1990 has lent some 7 billion euros to finance investment projects associated with Romania’s integration into the EU. (Tyres & Accessories)
