Manchester City and Liverpool shared the spoils at Eastlands in a game that displayed signs of both teams being in the relegation zone rather than battling for a Champions League spot.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez praised his side after they recovered from conceding an early goal to ensure their passage into the last 16 of the Europa League.
Unirea Urziceni levelled the aggregate score with an early header from Bruno Fernandes but Liverpool came back to score three and set up a tie with Lille.
Speaking after the game, Benitez said: „We showed character.
„It was a difficult game because of the pitch. We needed to be calm and do the job properly.
„To play better we needed to score our goal as they were dangerous at set-pieces.
The only negative for Liverpool was an injury to Martin Skrtel, with Benitez admitting he fears the defender may be out of action for some time.
„I think he maybe has a broken toe and I have to check with the doctor,” he said.
