The 20-year-old attacker is considered to be one of the most exciting youngsters around in European football and he’s even been touted as ‘the new Adrian Mutu’ in his native country.
Alexe was in superb form in the 2009-10 season and his good performance apparently left a mark with the rest of Europe. Chelsea have scouted the attacker on several occasions and the Blues are reportedly impressed with the young attacker’s potential.
The Romania under-21 star has an ongoing contract with Dinamo Bucharest and the White and Reds are reluctant to let go of their star attacker. However, Dinamo could be tempted to cash in on Alexe if an offer in the region of €5 million comes in.
