The Frenchman doesn’t understand why he is being under-utilised by the Scottish champions…

Left-winger has spoken of his displeasure with the situation he finds himself in with .

Having joined the SPL club in the summer from Paris Saint-Germain, where he was something of an unpopular figure, Rothen has failed to win regular game-time with the Glasgow giants. This is a phenomenon that puzzles the former France international, who believes his form merits better treatment.

“I’ve not played since October 20, when Rangers were defeated by Unirea Urziceni [4-1 in the Champions League], yet I have been voted the best player on my team by the fans.” he lamented to L’Equipe.

“I’ve played eight matches in the colours of Glasgow [Rangers] this season. I was elected man of the match three times, whilst playing on the right side, [which is not] my position. But Rangers are €35 million in debt and must save.”

Despite dubbing his time in Scotland “a failure”, Rothen wanted to make one thing clear: he has not pleaded with he parent club for a reprieve.

“Contrary to what I’ve heard and read, I have never asked PSG to take me back. And the management in Paris were clear; returning is not an option.”

Rothen was previously barracked by PSG fans for his outspoken nature regarding the behind-the-scenes goings on at the club, and it was not the first time his frank nature had landed him in hot water.
