(Nasdaq:DWA) today announced that its highly anticipated final chapter in the Shrek film series and the first in 3D, Shrek Forever After, will open in 194 IMAX® theatres domestically on May 21, 2010, simultaneous with the film’s wide release. The movie will also open in 45 IMAX locations internationally starting on May 20. Shrek: Forever After has been digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with IMAX DMR® technology and will be presented in IMAX theatres in IMAX® 3D. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws’ kingdom, what’s an ogre to do? Well, if you’re Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. What’s happened to this ogre’s roar?
