High flying British heavy metal stars Iron Maiden have been forced to change plans to play in Romania – after being told their personal jet is too big for the local runway. The band’s customised Boeing 757 – Ed Force One – has been diverted to neighbouring Hungary where they’ll transfer to a smaller jet to fly to rural Cluj-Napoca in Transylvania, for Sunday’s show. The plane – named after the band’s mummy mascot Eddie – will be flown by singer Bruce Dickinson, who works as a fully qualified jumbo jet pilot for fun when the group isn’t touring.
