The national roads in Bulgaria are passable in winter conditions. Most of the roads are dry, Road Infrastructure Agency told FOCUS News Agency.

Fog restricts visibility to 50 meters in the municipalities of Plovdiv, Vidin, Lukovit; to 100 meters in the municipalities of Montana, Shumen, Oryahovo and Byala Slatina; to 150 meters in the municipalities of Lom and Berkovitsa.

The following passes are closed: Troyan-Karnare, Arabakonak, Tvarditsa-Elena, Etropole-Zlatitsa, Varbitsa.

Vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers are banned from traveling on Vehtovo – Drumevo, Opanets – Dolna Mitropoliya – Trastenik – Oryahovitsa, and Balchik – Albena roads. Trucks with trailers and semi-trailers and total weight of over 10 tons are prohibited from traveling through the Pass of Shipka until 30 March 2010.

Repair works are under way on the following roads: Plovdiv – Pavel Banya in the Rozovets – Zelenikovo section, Yabalkovo – Kopiltsi, Polski Trambesh – Svishtov, Rudozem – Smolyan, Varna – Dobrich, and Kyustendil – Dupnitsa.
