Nimeni nu e incantat de acest nou procesor, ca si cum nu ar fi bun de nimic. Daca ma uit la celalt sticky despre amd pe 64 biti vad numai persoane multumite.Si-a cumparat vreo careva unul de cand a aparut?

Sunt doua stepping-uri de prescott, una cu mai multe stagii si una mai rapida decat varinat northwood, cu mai putine.

Cel mai nou stepping este pentru socket 478 si nu va apare in versiuni mai mult de 3.4GHz.

Celalalt o idee mai lent decat northwood, are mai multe stagii si permite o frecventa mult mai ridicata (pana la 5-6GHz). Practic aceasta a fost ideea de a mari nr de stagii, pentru a putea produce frecvente mai ridicate.

Eu zic ca e un procesor excelent, mai ales ca acum la inceput pretul lui este rezonabil. Cate procesoare de clasa lui au avut la intrarea pe piata asa pret? Chiar si la noi in tara pretul anuntat este unul foarte bun.

Daca facem o comparatie pret – ce ofera eu zic ca e o investitie buna.

Mai ales peste cateva luni cand va fi si mai ieftin si o versiune mai bine definita.

Astfel, dupa amanarea lansarii din acest an, vine si amanarea lansarii din luna ianuarie, fapt ce vine sa sustina speculatiile conform carora Intel are probleme cu procesul tehnologic care sta la baza noilor procesoare.

Preturile procesoarelor de la Intel, in momentul lansarii Prescott vor fi urmatoarele: 999$ pentru Pentium 4 EE la 3,4GHz, 417$ pentru Pentium 4 la 3,4GHz, 417$ pentru Prescott la 3,4GHz, 278$ pentru Prescott la 3,2GHz, 218$ pentru Prescott la 3GHz si 178$ pentru Prescott la 2,8GHz. Tot pe 2 februarie va fi anuntat si Prescott 2.80A cu o magistrala de doar 533MHz si fara suport pentru HyperThreading, al carui pret va fi de 163$.

Cam asa ceva. De obicei pretul la procesoare scade o data cu intrarea pe piata a unor modele mai noi si/sau cu o frecventa de lucru mai ridicata, preturile mai pot sa scada si de sarbatori dar acuma nu este cazul.
